Delta pendant by Sergio Mazza for Artemide, 1960s

Sergio Mazza designed this Delta Grande pendant for Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide in the 1960s.

The model consists of a pressed crystal bowl and an opaline shade. The structure is from matt nickel-plated brass.

The condition of the piece is good, with signs of wear and usage on the nickeled parts. The rod of the lamp consists of two parts and by taking one piece out, its length can be cut in half. The steel cable and the electrical wire have been replaced by new ones.

Delta is part of a range of lamps named after the Greek alphabet. Other lamps from this series are amongst others ‘Gamma’, ‘Kappa’, ‘Omega’, ‘Pi’, ‘Sigma’ and ‘Tau’.
