Mezzoracolo table or floor lamp by Italian architect Gae Aulenti, executed by Artemide. This is the smaller version, but it is still 67 cm high. The larger version is named Oracolo, and the height of this lamp is 140 cm.

A large white globe in opal glass sits atop a dark cylindrical brown-coated metal base. The light switch is clearly original as it is made of the same material as the base of the lamp. It offers the possibility to switch on / off the lightbulbs in the globe and the base independently of each other.

The Mezzoracolo lamp is described in ‘Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000’ by Giuliana Gramigna on Page 164 (1969).

We have an Oracolo floor lamp in our collection.
