The E63 (or also known as Robot or Ruspa) lamp was designed by Umberto Riva in 1963 for a competition and taken into production as of 1969 by different manufacturers (Bieffeplast and Fontana Arte).
This incomparable and unique model with adjustable shade somehow makes one think of a robot. The lamp is normally used as a table lamp but because of the construction at the back of the lamp it can also be employed as a wall lamp.
The condition of the lamp is very good, with only a minor bit of discoloration inside the shade due to heat of a bulb (not visible from the outside!).
The lamp comes with a carefully selected light bulb to prevent potential future damage.
The lamp has been described in the Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000 by Giuliana Gramigna on Page 167 (1969).
